Our AMTA-VA Volunteers Make the Difference!
The heart of AMTA Virginia is its volunteers. Our chapter is almost entirely driven by dedicated individuals who give their time, energy, and talents to strengthen our community. Every event, project, program, and member support effort you see represents thousands of hours each year of volunteer commitment.
Building Our Vision Together
The Chapter Board develops our yearly calendar and nurtures our volunteer spirit at the Annual Leadership & Strategic Planning Retreat.
Our vision,
“Action Together. Impact Forever.”
guides this important gathering.
Strategic Planning is where we come together to:
- Review our mission and ensure we stay true to it.
- Set clear goals for the year.
- Assign committee roles and responsibilities.
- Plan meaningful chapter activities and events.
- Conduct a thoughtful fiscal and financial review to keep our chapter strong.
Supporting Our Volunteers
In return for the incredible service our volunteers provide, we’re committed to supporting them. We offer leadership development training to help volunteers grow and learn — building skills that translate directly into their businesses and careers, and helping them become even more successful in whatever they pursue.
Join Us!
If you’re not currently volunteering with us, we warmly invite you to become an essential part of our mission. No matter your schedule or where you’re located in Virginia, we have a place for you to get involved and make a difference.
Our Guiding Principles for Volunteerism
- Honor and respect the personal needs of all volunteers.
- Build capacity and commitment by ensuring volunteers gain clear personal value from their experience.
- Ask volunteers to commit only to what they can reasonably accomplish, with minimum time requirements.
- Support volunteer success and satisfaction through proper training and meaningful recognition.
- Provide clear direction and boundaries for all volunteer roles.
- Communicate regularly through our newsletter and website to keep volunteers connected and informed.
